Madoc Rocks was started in 2002, producing coasters with rock from Madoc, Ontario.   After eighteen years of coaster production, we have decided to change direction, to become more artistic, showcasing the beauty inside the rock.  We take the time to select only the best rocks, and slice them to reveal incredible colours and patterns inside.  This decision has been influenced by Chris Hadfield, whose photos of the earth from space were similar to some of the patterns seen in the rock slices.  The success of Madoc Rocks has been due to the customers fascination with natural rock, and the fact that the coasters are a handmade, Canadian product.  Our new ‘Art In A Rock’ designer prints show just how amazing the rock truly is.  We want people to see a piece of art, not realizing it is actually a photo of a slice of rock, which is included with the print as proof.
